Alberta Venture’s annual list of “Fast Growth 50” companies has been released for 2015 and STEP Energy Services was ranked as the second fastest growing company in the province. For the past 15 years, the Fast Growth 50 program has been the most prominent ranking of Albertan businesses with significant growth in revenue, assets, capital expenditures and employees over a three-year period. Produced by Alberta Venture magazine, this program is one of the most recognized business rankings in the province.
On Wednesday, September 23, STEP was announced as a winner in the 2015 Top Safety Culture™ Awards, Large Enterprises category for the second year in a row. The Top Safety Cultures™ awards program is intended to promote safer workplaces and enhanced organizational cultures for employees, their family members, and their communities across Canada. STEP scored higher than the industry average in every category: Employee Feedback, Safety Practices, and Safety Incidents, again solidifying STEP as a leader in safety in the workplace.
In September 2015, STEP made the Venture 250 list of the province's biggest money-makers for the 2014 fiscal year. Based solely on revenue, STEP came in at number 173 out of 250 organizations from varying industries across the province.
At the beginning of June, STEP was announced as one of Alberta Oil’s Biggest Oil, Gas, Midstream and Service Companies of the year. Based on revenue, STEP ranked as number 125 out of 200 on the list and saw a 65 per cent jump in revenue from 2013 to 2014.
On May 21, at the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Service Awards & Volunteer Appreciation Reception, STEP was presented with one of four corporate awards from the organizations’ Calgary section. The Company received an award for Innovative Project Excellence for the work they did in conjunction with NCS Multistage (NCS) where 84 individual slickwater fracs were successfully placed – a Canadian stage count record for both companies. The SPE Calgary Section was established in 1955 and has been handing out individual service recognition awards since 2009. 2015 marks the first year of the corporate awards.
