STEP Energy Services Completes Inaugural Coiled Tubing Job in North Dakota

Houston, Texas  (January 16, 2020) – In early January, STEP Energy Services (STEP) performed its first coiled tubing job in North Dakota for an independant oil producer in the area. The ultra-capacity coiled tubing unit travelled to a four well pad just outside of Watford City in the Bakken formation. The composite plug milling operation was performed using a 2-3/8 inch string of coiled tubing and removed 45 plugs per well; the deepest well reached a total measured depth of 21, 969 (6,696 meters). Efficient milling of composite plugs is critical in achieving operational efficiencies for the operator.

Brian Clark, director coiled tubing services U.S. states, “We are extremely excited about the successful completion and flawless execution of our first-ever operation in North Dakota. The entire team of professionals did an excellent job representing STEP and delivered an Exceptional Client Experience in a safe and timely manner.” Clark adds, “With our recent geographical expansion, onboarding of new professionals and fully operational service center in Williston, North Dakota, we will be able to better serve our clients in the Bakken formation.”
