(Calgary, AB, July 19, 2019) - STEP Energy Services Ltd. (“STEP”) has announced the completion of another record-breaking coiled tubing project on a 15k well while performing milling operations for a major producer. STEP professionals reached a depth of 7,445 meters (24,425 feet) with 2-3/8" (60.3 mm) coiled tubing. This surpasses STEP’s previous record of 7,325 meters (24,032 feet) set almost a year ago in August 2018.
The custom string allowed the Company to hit depths that would likely be unachievable while performing complex operations such as this one. The combination of the high-pressure wellbore and persistent debris while milling was challenging, but field professionals on C19 delivered another Exceptional Client Experience, while keeping safety top-of-mind.
Chris Zager, director of coiled tubing services (Canada), comments, “I’m incredibly proud of the work we do and the professionalism we exude both in the office and the field. It’s because of this commitment to professionalism, flawless execution and safety that we are able to surpass company and industry depth record time and time again.”
Congratulations to everyone involved!
