Calgary, AB (June 15, 2015) – On May 21, at the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Service Awards & Volunteer Appreciation Reception, STEP was presented with one of four corporate awards from the organizations’ Calgary section. The Company received an award for Innovative Project Excellence for the work they did in conjunction with NCS Multistage (NCS) where 84 individual slickwater fracs were successfully placed – a Canadian stage count record for both companies.
Bailey Epp, vice president of engineering and technology comments, “Winning an award with such a recognized industry organization is a great achievement for STEP. We’re especially proud to be the only energy services provider to be presented with a corporate award from the SPE Calgary section this year,” adds Epp. “As always, recognition for this accomplishment cannot go to one individual or department; a number of people had their hands on this high profile project, including our engineering, operations and sales teams.”
At the beginning of June, STEP was announced as one of Alberta Oil’s Biggest Oil, Gas, Midstream and Service Companies for 2014. Based solely on revenue, STEP ranked as 125 out of 200 on the list – a big achievement for a company that has been generating revenue for only 3 years.
“2014 was a great year for us,” says Regan Davis, president and chief executive officer at STEP. “Our revenue increased by 66 per cent from 2013. Despite the economic downturn, 2015 is proving to be a positive year for many reasons; the opportunity to acquire 115,000hp in fracturing assets, new service center locations and our move into the US. Our professionals and ability to execute will continue to set us apart in the latter half of 2015, making us excellent contenders for the Top 200 list next year.”
