Calgary, AB (June 16, 2014) – On Saturday, June 14 STEP Energy Services (STEP) participated in Blackfalds Days with a free community BBQ following the town parade. A line-up quickly formed at 12p.m. and before you knew it, burgers were flipped and served to over 500 hungry parade goers. STEP professionals volunteered their time to staff the company’s one-of-a-kind barbeque trailer, which is equipped with three grills, three coolers, and a multi-media sound system.
This isn’t the first time STEP’s central Alberta service center has helped out in the community. In December 2013, professionals from the Blackfalds Service Center raised $7,200 in support of the Central Alberta Women’s Outreach Society and the Salvation Army. STEP encourages all of its office and field professionals to give back to the communities they operate and live in.
“It’s encouraging to see the support that pours in from our professionals when asked to volunteer and give up five hours of their weekend for a community event,” says Chris Zager, operations manager. “The number of field and office professionals who continue to step up time and again proves that our professionals are living our core values of safety, trust, execution and possibilities, both in and out of the work place,” adds Zager. “When we come together as an organization and make a commitment to the communities we operate in, the possibilities are endless”.
