Calgary, AB (December 11, 2014) – On December 9th, STEP held its first public lunch and learn highlighting the successful completion of a groundbreaking intervention program on five ultra-long lateral wells in northeastern BC. Members of STEP’s engineering team presented the paper “Going Long - Overcoming Challenges in Completing 3,600m Laterals” to a room full of 60 people, consisting of suppliers and 16 different E & P companies. STEP’s engineering team lead, Lem Edillon, and technical specialist, Ben Layton, presented a case that can help define and push the limits of extended reach coiled tubing interventions in the industry.
“We want to continue to share our success stories with our clients, and this venue is a great platform for us to do it,” says Marc Johnson, vice president of sales and marketing. “It’s important to share the knowledge we gain on each project to better the industry as a whole,” adds Johnson. “The presentation was well received and we plan to hold similar events in the future, where we can present our findings, discuss industry trends and bring like-minded people together.”
