Calgary, AB (January 31, 2013) – STEP Energy Services has achieved an outstanding score on Certificate of Recognition (COR) audit. The COR audit was conducted for the purpose of re-certifying STEP as a COR holder in Alberta and certifying the company as a COR holder in British Columbia. The audit was conducted in November 2012 using the Enform COR Audit Protocol. STEP’s overall audit score was 92 per cent which is a significant achievement for the company and well above industry average.
“This exceptional audit score demonstrates the high level of knowledge and support of STEP’s HSE program throughout the entire organization,” says Chris Kirby, HSE Manager. “I would like to acknowledge the efforts of all our STEP professionals, especially those in our Health, Safety and Environment, Maintenance and Operations departments, who have helped cultivate such a robust culture of safety.”
The COR audit activities involved documentation review, observation tours at five worksites including offices, shops and field work sites, as well as interviews with employees, contractors and visitors. The auditor noted that STEP has put a tremendous amount of effort into building and maintaining an HSE program despite the fact the company has been in operation for less than two years. He states, “STEP has successfully created a culture that respects the feedback and input from employees and contractors at all levels… It was very obvious by the way this audit was approached by the company’s employees, that health and safety is a value that STEP takes very seriously.”
Chris Kirby comments further, “We anticipate further growth in the WCSB and expansion of HSE program elements; the primary goal of STEP’s field professionals and management team is the successful execution of our client coiled tubing and fluid pumping projects while maintaining the high standards we have set.”
