Calgary, AB (July 25,2017) – On July 6, STEP Energy Services’ (STEP) newly commissioned ultra-capacity coiled tubing unit, C17, marked its maiden voyage as it travelled south of Shreveport, Louisiana to a three well pad in the Haynesville Shale formation. Three toe preps were performed for a leading global resources company using a 2-3/8” string; the deepest well reached 19,544 feet (5,957 meters). The job was completed on July 13.
“Our client was extremely pleased with the performance of the equipment and crews, and is very excited that STEP has a fully operational service center in the Haynesville Shale formation,” says Brian Clark, U.S. operations manager.
Brock Duhon, vice president of U.S. coiled tubing services adds, “The addition of C17 and a new service center in Arcadia, Louisiana shows STEP’s commitment to the Exceptional Client Experience. Our business is rapidly growing and we’re excited about our recent expansion into the Haynesville to better support our clients. The need for equipment capable of servicing deep horizontal wells is evident, and we are here to address that.”
STEP will continue to add new equipment throughout the year with two additional coiled tubing units expected to arrive by the end of 2017.
