STEP’s Product Launch Event a Huge Success

Calgary, AB (June 2, 2014) – On Thursday, May 29th STEP Energy Services held a product launch event in downtown Calgary to unveil the STEP-ARM (Articulating Rotational Mast) – featuring a 360° revolving capability and 27 meter mast height and reach capacity. The STEP-ARM is the final piece of equipment to complete STEP’s ultra-capacity spread, joining the COMMAND CENTER and ultra-capacity reel trailer. The star of the event was undoubtedly the STEP-ARM which was raised to only a third of its maximum height, but drew in quite the crowd. Attendees got a chance to look at the innovative coiled tubing spread close up, tour the inside of the COMMAND CENTER and learn more about how the STEP-ARM will deliver unparalleled efficiencies for challenging horizontal multi-well pad completion programs in the WCSB.

“We’re completely floored by the number of people who showed up to look at the equipment and talk to our operations, sales and engineering professionals,” says Marc Johnson, vice president of sales and marketing. “Although the day started off with less than favourable weather, we ended up seeing 268 industry professionals come through the event”.

Bailey Epp, vice president of engineering and technology adds, “The ultra-capacity spread is a result of two years’ worth of planning, engineering, and manufacturing and is now in the final stages of commissioning. The spread has gone through rigorous testing and is expected to be field ready early in Q3.”
