Calgary, AB (October 28, 2013) – STEP Energy Services is pleased to announce the arrival of its newest and longest string of coiled tubing. With a coil diameter of 2-7/8 inches, STEP can now service deep, long-reach horizontal wells that extend to 6,500 meters.
“STEP has built its business around improving operational efficiencies in today’s extended reach wellbore designs by using larger and longer coiled tubing strings,” says Steve Glanville, COO. “STEP has developed a solution for the increasing number of long lateral intervention programs in the Montney, Duvernay and Horn River basins and has initiated the build of the largest reel trailer in North America”.
This new ultra-capacity reel trailer is capable of spooling up to 6,500 meters of 2-7/8 inch and 7,900 meters of 2-5/8 inch coiled tubing. This unit is scheduled for commissioning early in November and will be deployed to a client’s well site for immediate operation.
Marc Johnson, VP, Sales and Marketing adds, “This recent addition to our service line illustrates the importance STEP places on listening to our clients and how we are able to leverage their insights to grow our business. It is yet another example of STEP delivering the product, the technical support and the premier level of service our clients have come to expect from us.”
