Earlier this year, at the Enserva STARS & Spurs Live Industry Auction, ARC Resources, Birchcliff Energy, and NuVista Energy successfully bid on credits for STEP’s completion services and safety stand-down BBQs at their locations. This annual auction brings together energy companies, service providers, and community partners to support STARS, which provides critical air ambulance services across Western Canada.

In August, STEP leadership, including Steve Glanville, President and CEO; Todd Rainville, VP, Sales and Engineering; and Dallas McCauley, VP, Operations, Canada, hosted safety stand-down BBQs at ARC, Birchcliff, and NuVista job sites in the Grande Prairie, AB area. These events offered an opportunity to connect directly with field professionals and reinforce the importance of safety and community in energy services.

STARS representatives Glenda Farnden, Sr. Municipal Relations Liaison, Alberta-British Columbia, and Jessica Dirom, Executive Director, Advancement and Campaign, attended to highlight the impact of donations and community support. Their presentations demonstrated how contributions help STARS maintain its fleet, train specialized personnel, and respond quickly to emergencies across remote regions.

STEP’s safety stand-down BBQs are structured events that allow teams to pause operations, review protocols, and engage with safety leaders. Hosting these across three job sites enabled STEP to reach multiple teams, ensuring broad participation and meaningful discussions on safety, teamwork, and community responsibility.

By supporting STARS, STEP and its partners help ensure lifesaving assistance is available when it matters most. From remote medical emergencies to municipal support, STARS relies on the collective efforts of industry, service providers, and community partners. Events like safety stand-down BBQs show how hosting a meal, providing services, or donating to the auction contributes directly to this network of care.
