UDx Deployment Sets New STEP Coiled Tubing Depth Record on COIL+™ Job in the Permian Basin

With strong execution from STEP Energy Services’ field professionals, and in close collaboration with a valued client, the company successfully deployed its UDx (Ultra-Deep Capacity Coiled Tubing Reel Trailer) for the first time. As STEP’s deepest-capacity coiled tubing unit, UDx enabled a new company depth record of 31,023 feet (9,456 meters) in Howard County, Texas, within the Permian Basin. This milestone surpasses the previous record of 30,210 feet (9,208 meters) and represents a meaningful advancement in ultra-deep, extended-reach coiled tubing capability. The record‑setting operation used COIL+™, STEP’s dual‑agitator system, leveraging mid‑string and bottom‑hole agitation to reduce friction, extend lateral reach, and enable efficient single‑connection execution.
